a generative music piece ruminating on place, memory, and the expressive possibilities of algorithms as the work slowly struggles to reproduce the melody to Neil Diamond's 'Forever in Blue Jeans.' The piece is a 'love song' that traces a year of life between Los Angeles, Berlin, and Stockholm with genetic algorithms, Markov chains, spectral analysis of field recordings, and a number of samples from various objects collected over the time period.
